After the clubs return to success last season, with the Gents 1st team winning west district div 2 and the gents west district cup beating 3 division one sides on the way to lifting the trophy, Giffnock are looking to continue this into the coming season with continued recruitment in the coaching team. We are currently looking for a Director of Hockey (who will also lead the Gents 1st team) and a Head of Youth Development to look after and improve our ever-growing junior section.
The position of Director of Hockey is designed to be a person charged with assisting in the creation and delivery of the club’s approved programme. The Director of Hockey will oversee all aspects of coaching at Giffnock, ensuring that all club coaching sessions are covered either by themselves or by appointing further coaches as part of the role. The Director of Hockey must lead our Gents first team coaching and ensure all other training session are covered by a suitably qualified coach.
The position of Head of Youth Development is designed to be a person charged with assisting in the creation and delivery of the club’s junior hockey programme. The Head of Youth Development will attend junior sessions on a Monday and Wednesday (from 3:30pm) and coordinate junior matchplay.
