Playing Position: Right Midfield

Previous Hockey Experience: I briefly played at the Glasgow Academy, after which I went to uni and joined the hockey club at Glasgow University winning player of the season twice, top scorer in my final year, and gaining 1 promotion in my 4 years.
After uni, I joined Giffnock Hockey Club, where I was top scorer in my first and only season.

Best Hockey Moment: Promotion with Glasgow Uni as captain.

Coaching: Trying to coach the art of scoring from a yard.

Role: Ladies and Juniors coach

Team: Gents 1st Team

Playing Position: Left Back

Previous Hockey Experience: I have played hockey with Giffnock for 7 years, in which time I have played across all three of the gents teams, captaining the second team for two years, latterly, playing for the first team. I am also a qualified umpire, who has umpired at the Scottish Schools Cup and Inter-District Tournaments.

Best Hockey Moment: My best hockey moment so far has been playing for the gents first team.

Coaching: As a defender I’m better suited to teaching defensive drills and how to work the ball out from defense. I enjoy improving players on a weekly basis.

Role: Seniors and Juniors coach

Team: Gents 1st Team

Playing Position: Utility man

Previous Hockey Experience: 14 years at Giffnock. Progressed from the 5th team through the ranks including taking a year as 2nd team captain before playing for our 1st team in National 3. Moved to become a goalkeeper for the 1st team in 2015. I’ve also recently competed in goals for Falkirk’s indoor team at National 2 level. Currently in my second spell as 1st team captain.

Best Hockey Moment: Winning Player of the Year two years in a row (16/17 and 17/18) and a special award for Centenary Clubman at our centenary awards dinner in 2019.

Coaching: I like to emphasise on players being able to maintain possession and improve their confidence on and off the ball.

Role: Seniors and Juniors coach

Team: Gents 1st Team

Playing Position: Forward / utility man

Previous Hockey Experience: Been involved in hockey for nearly 30 years. Started at the age of 18 for Stepps 4th team. Progressed through the teams to play for the Gents 1st team in National League 2. Was their regular left back for nearly 14 years. Also competed in National Indoor Leagues 2, 3, 4 and 5. Coached the under 18 team in the West District Indoor League.

Moved to Giffnock, currently playing for the Gents 1st team and, as a qualified level 2 coach, coaching junior and senior players.

Best Hockey Moment: Playing in National League 1.

Coaching: Educating players the emphasis of good communication during training and games
