Giffnock Into National League Semi-Finals
Our Gents 1st team finished 2nd in their group stage of the National League, behind Newlands and now play ESC, who topped Group 2, in the semi-finals on 4th April at Colinton Squash Club, Edinburgh. A win would put us one match away from qualifying for the European Club Championships for the first time, which are to be held later this year in Paderborn, Germany.

Ali Does It Again!
Congratulations to Huziafah Ali on a second National title, this time at Under 13. Huzaifah won the final 3-0 against Rory Richmond after a shaky first game, coming back from 2 game-balls down. Huziafah now moves on to compete at Under 15 level, with everyone at Giffnock wishing him every success.

Stuart George continues winning ways!
In his bid to gain selection to the Scottish National team for the forthcoming European Championships, Stuart reached the semi-finals in the third of four events which decide selection, this being the West of Scotland senior ranking event. Stuart has risen rapidly up the PSA World Rankings over recent months to a new career high of 319 and is sure to break into the world top 300 this upcoming month.

We welcome a new Squash Convenor and thank the one that’s getting away!
“A warm welcome from us all to Gary Blanchflower who took over as Squash Convenor at our recent AGM. Thanks to go to Noel Woods for his efforts on behalf of squash and racketball over recent years!”
