We're at the middle of the West of Scotland league tennis season and can report simply terrific results all round.

Our Ladies and Gents 1st Teams are both undefeated, having won 5 games out of 5, with our Gents top of their Premier Division and the Ladies lying in second purely because the points system does not take into account team wins (just sets).

Let's hope we have two Premier Division titles to celebrate at the end of June. (See details of Scottish Cup below!)

This coming week our Ladies 1st (led by Head Coach Steph Norris) are at Home to Strathgryffe on Tuesday, while our Ladies 2nd have their scheduled week off. Some member support would be very much appreciated.

Our Gents 1st are at home to, our local friends and rivals, Newlands, on Friday and again member support would be very much appreciated. Our Gents 2nd are away to David Lloyd West End, while our Gents 3rd (led by Club Coach Craig Williams) are at home to Rutherglen.

As you can see, there is plenty of great tennis to watch at your Club in the coming week!

Moving on to the Scottish Cup. For the first time in a long time we also have both Ladies and Gents 1st Teams in the Main Draw of the Scottish Cup, starting this coming Saturday. Both have decent draws and we need members help to cheer them on to victory.

Our Ladies 1st are at home on Saturday to Kinnoull with Steph leading a terrific team with a promise of some highly entertaining tennis. We'll have terrific drinks promotions on for those of you who come down to cheer our ladies on!

Meanwhile, our Gents 1st commence their campaign away to St Serfs in Edinburgh. Owen and the boys are looking good and would welcome any travelling support we can muster.

Looking ahead, it is possible we will have two home matches on both Saturdays June 6th and June 13th. If that happens there will be no courts available from 1pm on these dates but we will have plenty going on around the clubhouse to encourage vocal support. There will also compensate social tennis players for the loss of court time with some additional, organised, social tennis tournaments throughout the rest of the year.

So come on Giffnock, get behind our ladies and gentlemen and let's have a year to remember on court - and not just because they are new and look good!
