Bye Laws
1.
Members and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in
an orderly manner at all times whilst on the Club premises.
2.
A Committee Member or Staff Member may refuse entry to any
Member or visitor, or ask that person to leave.
3.
Proof of membership must be produced on demand by a Member
or Staff Member.
4.
Members must use their entry card to access the Clubhouse
and tennis courts. If anyone seeks entry
without being able to demonstrate they are a member, or a guest of a member,
they should be denied access and referred to a member of the committee or the
membership secretary/administrator.
5.
Members and visitors are personally liable for any damage
done by them on the premises.
6.
An appropriate standard of dress must be maintained at all
times.
7.
No one is allowed in the Bar serving area unless on Bar
duty.
8.
Visiting teams and supporters automatically become
Associate Members for the day of their visit.
9.
Members and Adult Associates may introduce visitors to the
Club provided they sign the Visitors’ Book. The visitor must remain in the
Member’s company for the duration of the visit. No Member may introduce more
than four visitors at any one time, and the same visitor may not be introduced
more than four times a month. Junior
Associates may only introduce visitors with the prior permission of a member of
the Committee or Coaching Staff.
10. The Clubhouse must be
closed by
11. No sports bags, rackets
in the lounge bar at any time. A bag
rack is provided in the hall for storage of these items while members use the
bar.
12. During bar opening hours
the lounge bar and the Clubroom bar will both be open at all times, unless a
private function or committee approved activity is taking place in any
designated area. Members are requested
not to use the seating in the upper lounge bar immediately after sporting
activity and to use the clubroom wherever possible.
13. The double doors in the
viewing gallery are for emergency use only unless by agreement of a member of
duty bar staff.
14. Loitering is not
permitted in the entrance areas or corridors of the Clubhouse.
15. Cycling in the Grounds
is not permitted. Bicycles must be placed in the racks provided and not against
the perimeter court netting.
16. No ball games are
permitted in the Clubhouse or the Grounds except on the appropriate courts:
i.e. Tennis only on the Main Courts; Mini Tennis or Hockey practice on the Mini
Courts; Squash only on the Squash Courts.
17. Food brought into the
Club for personal consumption (excluding match teas and food at Club functions)
should be consumed in the Clubroom, but if this is not available the Viewing
Gallery area in the Clubhouse may be used. These areas must be left tidy.
18. The kitchen area is
available for the preparation of match teas and food at functions. In the interests of security, health and
safety, access to and from the kitchen must be through the Clubroom. The kitchen must be left in a clean and tidy
condition. Use of the kitchen is
provided to Club teams and approved catering personnel on the basis that all
cutlery and crockery used are cleaned and put back to the appropriate place
before leaving the premises. Anyone
failing to adhere to this rule will be reported to the Club committee who will
apply a suitable sanction.
19. No pets are allowed in
the Clubhouse and they must be kept under control in the Grounds.
20. No parking is allowed in
front of the main door of the Clubhouse as this is a Fire Exit and must be kept
clear at all times.
21. The Committee reserves
the right to close the Clubhouse for ticket only functions. Members wishing a refreshment are welcome to use the Bowling Club Lounge
Bar.
22. The Clubroom will be
open during the day at the discretion of the Committee. The Clubroom will close

23. A table tennis table, a
pool table and a flat screen television shall be provided in the Clubroom for
members use. Damage to these items will
be charged to the member responsible, with failure to pay resulting in
disciplinary action being taken by the management committee.
24. Smoking is permitted at
the rear of the premises in the area immediately beside the ashtrays
provided. Members are asked to smoke
with consideration for other members and to use the ashtrays provided at all
times. As the committee have to pay for
cigarette stubs or litter to be tidied up members are advised that anyone found
leaving stubs on the ground will be subject to disciplinary action by the
management committee.
25. Bar staff are only
permitted to serve one drink per member during ‘last orders’, by order of the
Club committee. Members are asked to respect this rule and not to ask for any
more than one drink during ‘last orders’ as refusal can often offend.
Scottish Licensing Law as it affects the Club
No member or visitor under the age
of 16 may sit at the bar at any time.
Junior
members and anyone under the age of 16 are not permitted in the lounge bar
after 8pm unless participating in a Club approved sporting activity and only
then when under the supervision of a club coach, a parent or an adult member. Members and visitors under the age of 18 are
